Kids Club

Kids Club is an after school club for 6-11 Year olds run entirely by volunteers, meeting every Tuesday from 5.00 till 6.30 at The Hut, Chestnut Grove, Ushaw Moor, Durham.

Our club provides children with a friendly, safe and stimulating environment, where they can socialise and enjoy making new friends.

We provide a wide variety of activities to keep them busy after school and during school holidays, which includes the following:

 Arts and Crafts Table

Our arts and crafts table is run by Julie Donnelly who provides a wide range of different activities on a weekly basis.

Cookery Club

Our Cookery Club was started to complement our Energy Club activities and serves to introduce an understanding of food produce and where it comes from in a very informal way by encouraging children to find out for themselves by exploring resources on our website through the cookery resources page.

Flower Power kc-32

Some of the Kids Club girls asked us to form their own Girls Club.  Mary, one of the volunteers has agreed to be a mentor for the girls to discuss any issues they would like to talk about.

Mary said “I hope to engage the girls in open and honest discussions about anything they wish, the girls will write notes about the issues they would like to discuss and our meetings will be short so the girls can continue to enjoy other activities within Kids Club.

At the initial meeting the girls decided to call the group “Flower Power”, we aim to send letters home the week following each meeting for their parents/carers to see what has been discussed and for them also to have their say on the topics raised.

Gardening Club
